Dreaming of putting together the perfect fish tank?? I'm glad you have arrived! Welcome to the Fins section. Here you will discover our vast variety of fish. We have more in the store so feel free to stop in sometime. While you're here, order your new tank and stand today!! A deposit may be required. See the store for details.

Our most popular aquarium fish are tetras. For beginners, these are some of the hardiest fish to start with. First you will need a tank, filter, gravel, an air pump, and maybe a plant or two. A small beginner tank like this Water World Kit from Penn-Plax would do just fine. Larger glass aquariums and wooden stands are availabe in the store also.

I chose a small selection of Tetras to start with.

The Black Tetra is a perfect candidate for your tank

These are Black Neon Tetras. They are best kept in numbers of three or more as Tetras are schooling fish. And of ourse, the more you have, the easier they are to see.

Don't let the name fool you, These Bleeding Heart Tetras are anything but heart-broken.

If you like bright colors, how about a school of bright blue and red Cardinal Tetras?

Check out the name sake characteristics of this Head and Taillight Tetra.

Need abit of yellow to brighten up the tank? How about some Lemon Tetras?

These Neon Tetras look a lot like their Cardinal cousins don't they? Not to be mistaken for Green Tetras, which have a green stripe insead of blue.

This Rainbow Tetra gets it's name because when the lights hit the scales just right, the scales look like a rainbow across the sides of the fish.

A subtle touch of red and these lovely Serpae Tetras compliment any tank.

We also have a fantastic variety of Bettas, Or also known as Siamese fighting fish. I highly do not reccommend you have more than one male to a tank unless you have a lot of hiding places. Males have long flowing fins and are very colorful. They are also very aggressive toward other males of their kind and will literally tear each other's fins apart when in battle. They do not need a lot of maintenance, and seem to enjoy having an area all to themselves. In fact, they will do just fine in a jar. You may have seen glass vases with a plant in the top and a Betta swimming below, on desks in the workplace. A heater is not needed if the room temperature is a constant 72 to 75 degrees F. Males can be kept with other non-aggressive fish, however, some other fish, like gold fish, for example, may tend to pick at the Betta's long fins. It may not be a good idea to mix Bettas with Fancy Guppies, as Male Bettas may mistake the flared tail of the male guppies as a sign of aggression, and fight. Female Bettas are more social with each other, and several females may be kept together. They can also be kept with a variety of other fish. However, Female Bettas can be just as aggressive as the males. The Female's fins are much shorter and they come in a variety of colors, including browns with stripes from head to tail.

Check out these fantastic Males!!!
